LADSE offers a range of options for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
CD Classrooms
The LADSE CD Program offers classroom based instruction to students on the autism spectrum who require specific evidence-based methodologies to make progress on communication, social, academic, and functional skills. The CD program serves students from three to fourteen years of age, with early childhood through junior high classrooms. The CD classrooms are located in a variety of our member district school buildings. Students have the opportunity to interact with typical peers throughout the school day. Students may also return to their resident district school building for a portion of the day. Methodologies
Communication Development classes integrate evidenced-based practices in creating the learning environment. Classroom methodologies and interventions include direct instruction curriculum, structured teaching, augmentative communication supports, and generalization of skills. Individualizing interventions to meet specific learning needs is an emphasis. |
