1.2 Connect
1.2 Connect is LADSE’s Vocational Curriculum that prepares transition age students for the world of work. The curriculum is organized into six units with six lessons in each unit. Classes are led by a LADSE 1.2 Connect Instructor and class size and frequency can vary depending on individual student needs.
1.2 Connect Units Include:
Classes are designed to be informative and interactive so that participants can learn from the curriculum material as well as through interactive discussions and activities with classmates and instructors. 1.2 Connect is embedded in the Vocational Alliance, which is a partnership between high school transition programs, businesses and community members, the Division of Rehabilitation Services, and a multitude of funding sources within LADSE. LADSE is a special education cooperative that collaborates with 15 school districts, including Lyons Township High School, Riverside Brookfield High School, and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program through Hinsdale South High School.

- The Job Search Process
- Employment Soft Skills and Interviewing
- Competence On the Job
- Skills for Everyday Life
