LADSE DHH Program

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program

LADSE is the administrative agent for the regional Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program which provides services to students with hearing disabilities ages birth to twenty-one. The range of services includes diagnostics and evaluation, placement, instruction, student and parent support services, technical assistance to local schools, transition, and outreach to the community. The program serves students with hearing disabilities ranging from mild to profound. Students may have hearing loss as their only disability, or they may have multiple disabilities. Depending on their needs, students can be served in a variety of settings: in the student's home school in a general education setting in a special class in their home district or another district in a cluster program for students who are deaf/hard of hearing Each student's educational plan is individualized based upon goals developed by the local school teachers, therapists, and other members of the school team in consultation with the parents.
